Goal Setting Time -- Once Again!

This is the time of year when I love to set my next year's goals.  One of the things that I struggled with many years ago is whether to set big goals or small goals.

This excerpt (pasted below) will give you the answer to that question -- if that is a question you may have.

Invest some time over the next few days to set your intentions (your desires for 2008) and remember to dream BIG!

All the best to you and yours for 2008!

Attracting the Life of Your Dreams
(excerpt taken from Your DestinySwitch by Peggy McColl)
http://www.destinies.com

Most of us have been told again and again that if we want to live
the life of our dreams, we have to work hard for it by setting large goals
and breaking them down into manageable "chunks"-small goals that
we can push ourselves to achieve on our way to the big ones. This
approach may work for some people, but I believe that it keeps us
engaged in the same pattern of thinking we always adopt, closing us
off to the many ways our goals might be accomplished that we haven't
yet figured out (and may never figure out). Frequently I've seen people
get what they desire in a form they never would have expected. Certainly,
I didn't anticipate that I'd acquire my dream home through a
stock sale. By focusing on the emotions of having achieved my goal, I
opened myself up to the universe's unpredictable way of making sure
that I got what I desired.

I believe in attracting the life of your dreams by thinking big. Connect
with what you truly desire, no matter how outlandish, improbable,
or impractical it might seem. The universe doesn't recognize the difference
between small goals and big ones-it responds to your emotion
and intent. If you hope to inhabit your dream home on the lake- or
beachfront, you don't have to be practical and envision yourself living
in a more modest and affordable house ten miles inland. What you
need to be open to is the unusual and unexpected ways in which the
universe will grant your wish.

You can't possibly think of all the avenues to achieving your dream.
If you connect with the emotions of owning the home or launching the
career that you desire, opportunities to bring you closer to that goal
will appear, and you'll naturally follow them. You won't have to think
about, plan, and agonize over your business card or Website design
or struggle with your resume, because you'll naturally feel the drive to
create these items and will make them come into being. You'll do so
yourself, or you'll attract someone else who will provide the necessary
expertise, perhaps in exchange for some service you can offer.

You never know how the life of your dreams will come to fruition,
but when you do the work of creating positive emotions, you'll become
a magnet, drawing in all that you desire. This is why it's so important
to create positive emotions. They can bring you all that you long for
without your having to devote enormous amounts of energy to making
everything happen.

with love and appreciation,

Peggy

Someone is going to discover this woman...

I have been blessed to receive insights and messages from a woman who is extraordinarily talented.

I love to share Teresa Crane with the world.  I've done so in my other blogs.

I'm going to post this insight that I received from her this morning in an email.  I would love it if you would make comments on what you think this means to you.  Okay?  Please do it as I'm sure Teresa would love to see your comments too.  Also, you can go back in this blog to look for more entries with insights from Teresa.

Here is Teresa Crane's insight:

Make wherever you are a sacred space, your every act an act of worship.   Weigh each word as if life and death were in it, for indeed, that is so.  Your life, well-lived, will be a testimony of your oneness with the divine and all creation when you see your own humanity reflected in the face of another and find a way to open the inner cathedral of each and every heart you encounter and enter to light a candle at its altar.  © Teresa Z. The little things you do make a big difference

I wanted to share this with you today.

Elizabeth Mateo sent me an email a few minutes ago because she thought I might be interested in reading it.

She was absolutely right!

Please take a look at the content of the message pasted below.  I also encourage you to take part of this -- it will be a little thing that will make a big difference in the life of this woman!

[begining of note from Elizabeth]

I received an email from a brave community member who was honest enough to
admit that she had been alone for Thanksgiving and would be alone for
Christmas.  She asked if I might be willing to send her a holiday card in
the hopes of feeling more connected to others.  I was touched by her
request and quickly assured her that a card was in the mail.  Then I got
to thinking...

What would happen if I asked everyone in this community to send her a card
as a symbolic gesture of our common bond?  Rather than receive one
greeting from me, I smiled at the thought of her getting lots of cards at
a time when she feels so alone.  So, I wrote and asked for permission to
share her address with you.

If you'd like to feel the joy of connection that comes from caring about
another human being, please consider sending a card to Debra.  Whether you
write a little note, include a favorite quote, or simply sign your name,
let's show her that she's not alone.  Here's her address:

Debra Stevens
1202 E. Almeria Rd.
Phoenix, AZ  85006-2242

And, as you consider this idea, you might think about the people in your
life -- someone who may not have the courage to reach out -- and send him
or her a message of hope, too.  As our weekly quote says:  "Blessed is the
season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love."  I love
that idea...

Happy Holidays to you and yours, and to all who need a reminder that we
are never alone.

[end of excerpt]

Happy Holidays to you and your family!

love,

Peggy
